OLF believes that sharing of knowledge and ideas among the poorest and deprived gives them a opportunity to grow and prosper in holistic terms.With this missioni n mind OLF has been engaged in several programmes wherein it has acted as bridge between community and governement and have provided access to modern education to the childrens who were deprived from the benefits of education.
A. NON FORMAL EDUCATION CENTRE:
With the alarming increase in drop out rate amongst various states in india ,OLF has been giving a sustained effort to bring these drop out children in mainstream of formal education.In these centres OLF has followed scientific and innovative method which is participative and child oriented.The method involves the following:
(1) tracking the drop out children in a specified area
(2) talking to the children to know the reason of not going to school
(3) counseling the child's parents towards imparting of education
(4) motivating the children to go back for school
(5) organizing bridge courses so they can catch up with left out studies
(6) getting the child back to the school by helping them in admission procedures.
B. LIVELIHOOD TRAINING CENTRE:
The students from class 10th to 12th who are from poor families finds it very difficult to continue their education due to pressures of earning income in their adolescent age.Such pressureS often lead them to either engage in manual labor or in illegal trades.Realising the gravity of such situation OLF has engaged itself in arranging and imparting skill based training to such children in their filed of interest.the training module are short term and involve interactive learning by OLF's resource person.such training has not only helped children in attainment of specialized skill but has also made them productive human resource wherein they can earn stable income for their family and can also have sustainable individual growth
